UCFB Football Business & Media student Jack Gladman recently competed in two races at either end of the country, as he built his bid to compete for Team GB at this year’s Paralympic Games in Rio and European Championships in Italy.

The first year student, who has Cerebral Palsy, raced in the BUCS Cross Country Championships in Buckinghamshire before competing in the BUCS Indoor Championships in Sheffield the following week.

In the second event, Jack recorded an impressive personal best time of 4 minutes 57 seconds in the 1500m before going on to finish third in the ambulant 60m with a time of 9.3 seconds on the same day.

Speaking about his Rio dream, Jack commented:

“Rio is probably a long shot but I will do my best to impress in all events leading up to this summer. I may or may not be picked to represent Team GB at the Paralympics, however my main target is to compete at the European Championships in Italy.”
