For this year’s Careers Week, we’ve taken the chance to reflect on some of the versatile and fascinating roles our graduates have landed. From the Premier League to Sky Sports and beyond, UCFB was ranked in the top 5 for Career Prospects by University Compare last year, with almost two thirds of our students working in their desired field of football and sport.

Lipa Nessa, Sports Activist and Adidas brand representative

From working as a Youth Board member for Middlesex FA, to starting her own podcast, it’s safe to say Lipa Nessa immersed herself in the world of sport beyond her BA (Hons) Sports Business & Coaching degree. Having graduated over two years ago, she now works as a sports activist, representing brands like Adidas, and is also a Board Member for Youth Sport Trust.

Maria Hasler, Global Marketing Team at DAZN

After being forced to quit playing football due to injury, Maria Hasler was adamant she’d remain in the sport she loved. Signing up for GIS’ MSc Football Communications & Digital Marketing programme with this in mind, she secured a full-time role at global sports media outlet DAZN, within the Global Marketing Team, while completing the Master’s.

Mya Graham, Apprentice Journalist at talkSPORT

Having recently graduated from UCFB’s BA (Hons) Football Business & Media, Mya Graham secured a role at the world’s largest sports radio station. One of over 1,800 applicants for the in-demand placement, Mya landed her dream role, alongside Adrian Durham and Darren Gough, as well as listener favourites Jim White and Simon Jordan.

Rohan Shukla, Marketing Officer at Watford FC

During a GIS networking event at Watford FC, MSc Football Communications & Digital Marketing graduate Rohan Shukla approached the club’s Commercial Director, Paul O’Brien, to inform him what they were doing wrong with their Indian market. Six months later he landed a marketing job at the club.
