UCFB are delighted to announce that London Elite, the professional basketball club we partner with in our Wembley Basketball Academy, have pursued a new charity initiative, teaming up with The Felix Project for the next two years.
The biggest food redistribution organisation in London, fighting both waste and hunger, the charity work with thousands of disadvantaged schools and organisations to provide access to healthy and high-quality food. In 2021 alone, the Felix Project supplied over 30 million meals for struggling families, helping combat the capital’s devastating child poverty rates, as well as the two million tonnes of food surplus generated every year.

London Elite, keen to make a difference in the wider community alongside building the stars of tomorrow, will be undertaking a variety of activities to support the charity. From full team participation in the ‘Big Half’ this September, to Felix-inspired team kits, and designing unique t-shirts for the partnership, a range of projects are in the works to raise profits, and grow publicity, for the charity.
London Elite’s General Manager, Daniel Szatkowski, said: “Since ‘Day 1’ of London Elite we have been motivated to be more than just basketball mad. With difficult times upon us, we knew it was time to step up and prove this desire to our neighbours and the local community.
“We strongly believe this opportunity can have a significant impact on young people’s minds, personal development and future life chances. We hope you can all show your support.”
