Football Business & Media student, Daniel Getliff will be running the iconic London Marathon in April for the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund in memory of his grandfather who sadly passed away from this illness in 2001.

Since securing a place in the marathon, Daniel has worked closely with the Students’ Union team at UCFB, where he has successfully run one charity event, and plans to organise further fundraising events with the students across both campuses.

Outside of UCFB, Daniel has had an article printed in his local newspaper to raise awareness of his challenging endeavour and has also secured support from his old secondary school through his younger sister who currently attends.

Budding media professional, Daniel has even had support from his local non-league football club, Tamworth FC, who have arranged for him to attend a home fixture at which he can conduct a half time collection. The Lambs have also agreed to promote Daniel’s cause via their website and match day programme.

At UCFB we’re proud of Daniel’s efforts and contributions to a fantastic cause, and wish him the best of luck in the London Marathon.
