Just months away from his graduation, Wesley McGrath is ensuring his CV is as active and broad as possible ahead of finding his first full-time job in the football industry.

The BA (Hons) Sports Business & Coaching student is about to undertake a work placement with Little Sports Coaching as coach for an under 13 side, to go alongside his work with football4football.com on their equipment team.

As if all that wasn’t keeping Wesley busy enough on top of his degree studies, he’s also currently going through the process of completing his UEFA B Coaching license.

UCFB actively encourages all students to gain as much practical experience as possible in the football and sport industries to boost their CV upon graduation and ensure they’re ready for the rigours of a fun but challenging career.

Though a coaching student with clear aspirations to work in this field, Wesley used his football4football.com work placement, where he analyses the latest equipment technology, as a great chance to meet and network with professionals from another side of the industry, as well as hone his writing skills.

Commenting on his upcoming Little Sports Coaching placement, Wesley, a UCFB Etihad Campus student, said: “My experience at UCFB has made me start to think about football differently, which I think has helped me when I look to put sessions on.

“What I hope from this job in the future is to continue the good work that has already been put in place and to continue to develop the players for them to hopefully play at a higher level, as well as develop myself as a coach by learning from others.”
