One of our coaching students has taken up a new role at the Manchester United Foundation, supplying football sessions for children in the local community.

Spencer O’Connor, who is studying BA (Hons) Football Coaching and Talent Development, has been accepted for the coaching role at the Premier League giants in only his first year studying at UCFB.

At the foundation, Spencer is working in the Street Reds department, which focuses on supplying fun and engaging football sessions across Manchester.

Spencer said: “My first year at UCFB Etihad Campus has been really impactful for me and my journey in football coaching.

During my first year, I have already been exposed to many great people and connections that will help me through the next two years at university and then after, when I try and get a job in the industry.

“This (the new role) has been enjoyable for me to be a part of, due to it helping me develop skills such as managing a big group of players and improving my overall confidence when it comes to coaching.

I am excited to continue my time at university and see how far I can climb the coaching ladder thanks to the knowledge I have gained from UCFB.”
