Even before beginning their journey at UCFB, students are told of the importance of gaining a variety of work experience roles during their time at the institution.

Not only does it give each student the vital knowhow on different aspects of the football and sport industry, but it also allows students the chance to network, impress and make key contacts which one day could end in full time employment in their chosen career.

Austrian student Thomas is doing just that and has spent almost as much time working around Europe as he has in the lecture theatres in and around UCFB Wembley. His overall career goal is to be Chief Executive of a top European club, so Thomas has made sure he’s meeting as many people in the football industry as possible to help him achieve that.

A number of the unique work placements he’s already undertaken include working for UEFA at the Champions League final in Milan, the FA Cup final at Wembley, helping with logistics at the Austrian F1 and working in the marketing and sponsorship teams at the biggest football club in Austria, Rapid Vienna.

Thomas cites the relationships students have with academics and further networking opportunities in the Executive Guest Speaker Series as real highlights and benefits of studying at UCFB.

“My goal is to work in the football industry and I think UCFB prepares me perfectly for the years after graduating. The opportunities to network and learn from experts within the football industry are unique.”
