UCFB is delighted to announce new and improved learning facilities for students at UCFB Etihad Campus in Manchester.

Over the summer UCFB has been investing in its facilities to ensure a greater experience for all UCFB Etihad Campus students, including improved teaching venues, social spaces, library and media suites. This follows extensive feedback from students outlining the bigger and better facilities they want to see from UCFB to enhance their learning experience.

When students return to UCFB Etihad Campus in September they will find the following changes and additional facilities:

UCFB Study Hub @ Piccadilly Place – Located directly opposite Piccadilly Station and in the heart of Manchester, this brand new modern student facility will include a state-of-the-art library, study hub and social space, as well as pastoral and learning support drop-in services. Within the Study Hub, there will also be a sports lab, radio studio and TV studio. Students will also have access to free tea and coffee. Those staying at the halls of residence at Piccadilly Point will only be a short walk from this facility.

National Speedway Stadium @ Belle Vue – UCFB are transforming Belle Vue into a contemporary learning environment, with improved teaching spaces, social areas, information desk and pop-up library for students to request and return books. Students will also enjoy a new catering outlet within the National Speedway Stadium and table tennis facilities for in-between seminars.

Etihad Campus and Stadium – The modern facilities within the Etihad Stadium will largely be unchanged. Learning and pastoral support for students will remain available, and there will be a pop-up library for students to request and return books.

111 Piccadilly – Just a short walk from Piccadilly Place, 111 Piccadilly will become the head office for UCFB staff.

As part of the summer improvements all UCFB teams and services will no longer be based at the Regional Arena, including Student Services and the library. These will be permanently based at the brand-new UCFB Study Hub @ Piccadilly Place, with support also available at other campus locations.

Brendan Flood, UCFB Chairman and Chief Executive, commented: “We are delighted with the addition of these brilliant facilities at Piccadilly Place for our students, adding another dimension to UCFB Etihad Campus on top of the unique opportunity to learn with us inside Etihad Stadium.

“The Piccadilly Place development will further enhance the student experience at UCFB in one of the world’s greatest sporting cities and we are proud to have worked closely with Property Alliance Group, Transport For Greater Manchester and Manchester City Council to make this long-term agreement a reality.”

UCFB’s Manchester expansion comes after it recently announced plans to open global hubs in the US, Canada and Australia at New York’s Red Bull ArenaAtlanta’s brand new Mercedes-Benz StadiumToronto FC’s BMO Field and the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
