UCFB is delighted to announce it is offering a scholarship exclusively to postgraduate female students to support improving women’s representation across football as part of Women in Football’s #WhatIf campaign.
The Women In The Game Scholarship will see one Masters student awarded up to £1,500 and exposed to professional expertise, mentoring and networking from UCFB, Women in Football and their partners. The aim of the scholarship is to help develop the student’s football industry knowledge and experience as well as enhancing their leadership and communication skills.
UCFB’s #WhatIf pledge is just one of many from organisations around the country committed to enhancing female opportunity within football.
Anielka Pieniazek, UCFB’s Scholarships and Bursaries Manager, commented: “Football has the potential to promote gender equality, challenge stereotypes and empower women and girls to follow their dreams and dare to be different. The Women In The Game Scholarship is one of the ways that UCFB is contributing to positive change in the industry.”
By offering the scholarship, UCFB will be providing practical support for female talent by instilling confidence, broadening knowledge about gender equality and inclusion and empowering students to realise their full potential in the football industry. The award will be used for tuition fees, additional training courses and travelling costs.
UCFB is proud to say that many of its female alumni are currently working at the highest levels of sport, including Premier League teams and governing bodies.
As well as their state-of-the-art campuses in London and Manchester, UCFB recently announced it will be opening global hubs at New York’s Red Bull Arena, the brand new Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Toronto FC’s BMO Field and the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Each will host a UCFB Global Summit, which will allow students to travel and attend a week-long series of talks and seminars from leading sports figures in each respective country.
